Phantom Blade Zero Weapon Upgrades & Reforging

The officially confirmed reforge mechanic — invested materials come back — and an honest list of what is not known yet: costs, NPCs, menus and limits.

Quick Answer

Officially confirmed: you can reforge a weapon and get its invested materials back to reinvest elsewhere. Costs, NPCs, menu steps and any limits are not documented yet.

Official
PS5 PC Build: not yet verified

The confirmed part

From the official deep dive: “You can always reforge it, get those materials back, and reinvest them in another.” That sentence is the whole mechanic as officially described — upgrade a weapon, and if you change your mind, the invested materials return for the next weapon.

Why the developer built it this way

The same source frames it as removing the wrong-weapon fear: invest freely, try a different weapon, reforge, reinvest. The intent is experimentation, not punishment.

What is deliberately missing here

  • Costs — whether reforging is free, taxed, or partially refunded is not stated. “Materials come back” does not automatically mean “free of any charge”.
  • Where — the NPC, menu path or forge location has not been shown in official text.
  • Edge cases — level caps, exclusive materials, timers: unknown.

Any step-by-step reforge tutorial published today would be fiction. This page gets its walkthrough when the release build can verify it — the URL will not change.
